Application Procedure

If you are interested in training to become an Alexander teacher, it is recommended that you visit other schools to familiarize yourself with different teaching approaches, curriculum, and course requirements.

To apply to the training course at the Alexander Technique School New England, you must have a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in life experience, and have at least thirty private lessons before enrolling in the course. You must also visit the school for an interview and a private lesson with the Director. (In special circumstances, this requirement may be waived.) Submit your application form to the Director with the application fee, and ask the Alexander teacher with whom you have studied the longest to send a letter of recommendation to the School.

Your application must be submitted by May 1st in order to be considered for acceptance to the program the following September. (In some cases students are admitted for the beginning of the winter/spring semester.) Notification of acceptance to the program is sent in June.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact the Director at: 413 253-2595.

This school is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Education, license # 061110T
